How Reducing Medications Improved her Life - Rose-Angèle's Story

Discover Rose-Angèle’s story with medications and side effects. With the support of Violène, a retired nurse and social worker, she found the confidence to discuss her medications with her healthcare providers and regain her quality of life. We sincerely thank Rose-Angèle and Violène for generously sharing their story with our Network.

Meet Rose-Angèle, a 68-year-old woman living with diabetes, hypertension, and chronic pain, who reduced her daily medications from 30 to 18 with the guidance of her healthcare provider.

Rose-Angèle took up to 30 medications per day to treat different health conditions - but still wasn't feeling well at all. The side effects of her many medications were affecting her daily activities, her mood, and her overall quality of life - she knew something had to change. With the support of Violène, a retired nurse and social worker, Rose-Angèle found the confidence to talk with her healthcare professionals about her medications and began an inspiring deprescribing journey.

Everyone’s story is different. Deprescribing should be adapted to each person’s health goals and needs. Click here for tips on how to start a deprescribing conversation with a healthcare professional.
